About

I’m Leon Stafford, an Australian software developer based in outback South Australia.

For over a decade my open-source work centred on one idea: most websites don’t need a live application server. WP2Static, the WordPress static site generator I created and maintained, helped tens of thousands of people get faster, safer, cheaper sites; Strattic acquired it (I’d joined them first), and it’s maintained today under Elementor. Lokl came from the same itch — WordPress local development that just starts.

I care about accessibility more than most developers will admit is necessary. My Accessible Minimalism theme exists because “minimal” should mean “less in the way”, including for screen readers. This site runs on it.

Lately I’ve been building something different: a company whose staff are AI agents. Departments with charters, daily shifts, an approval board, evidence rules — shipping web apps, travel guides, media pipelines and finance tools to production daily, with me as the only human. It’s the most fun I’ve had in software. I speak Japanese and am working toward speaking (the on-stage kind) in Japan.

Talents, concretely
